The Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions in Ukraine" (re Status of Persons who fell Victims to the Political Repressions in Childhood) at the Second Reading and in its Entirety

The Bill (Reg. № 5040) supplements the effective Law with the regulation, pursuant to which, persons are recognized as victims to the political repressions if they were born when their mothers served their sentence in prisons or medical establishments and later were rehabilitated; were under 18 years together with the parents serving their sentence in prisons or in exile and later were rehabilitated; were under 18 years and deprived of the parental care if one of the parents or both parents were subjected to repression and later rehabilitated pursuant to the law.  

 

The Bill commissions local State administrations to recognize the persons as victims to the political repressions, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to determine the order, according to which the persons shall be recognized as victims to the political repressions.
