Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the interview for the Russian television channel "НТВ, analyzing the situation after the presidential campaign in Ukraine and giving answers to the questions concerning the possible terms of new coalition and government formation declared: "The term of the new coalition formation will depend on the position of the Party of Region regarding the Prime Minister office."

According to M. Tomenko, if the Party of Regions insists on the candidate for the Prime Minister office from their own political power, the coalition formation would be more complicated and would resemble more pragmatic majority for the voting but not the coalition. Instead, if the Party of Regions agrees to the Prime Minister from another political power, it would give more opportunities for the coalition formation, he supposes.

Though, M. Tomenko is convinced that the coalition and government formation is not "a one-day-step" and, probably, the pre-termed Parliamentary elections are still possible."
