Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, sent his greetings to Valentyna Shevchenko, Chairperson of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of USSR in 1984-1990.

 

V.Lytvyn called V.Shevchenko an outstanding public figure of Ukraine, as she "belonged to the cohort of Ukrainian women who contributed to the Ukrainian well-being in a critical period". "She is a personality who has always lived with public problems and concerns, who has cared for children matters and supported women", - he stressed.  

 

The Head of the Parliament believes that V.Shevchenko is a unique person, as "she manages to be everywhere and help everyone; she has a generous heart and passionate energy".

 

V.Lytvyn wished sound health to V.Shevchenko, as well as "living, civil anxiety" characteristic of this distinguished person.
