Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No. 5332), one of the parents of a child before 7 years of age is entitled to an extra leave without pay for the period of quarantine at a corresponding territory.
The Committee members stated that the effective legislation did not envisage a child rearing leave if the children were not able to attend schools or pre-school establishments due to quarantine. The People´s Deputies also stressed that the effective Law "On Leaves" envisaged an extra leave without pay for no more than 15 calendar days per year, whereas the quarantine in 2009 had lasted for three weeks.
The People´s Deputies believe that adoption of the Bill will create conditions to take better care of children health and life during the quarantine.
