Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Wednesday met the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly President Mevlüt Cavusoglu. At the beginning of the meeting, V. Lytvyn congratulated Mr. Cavusoglu with the appointment on the PACE Presidential office stating that he shares those principles and priorities PACE President defines as a main targets. "Those principles do not only suitable in time but, moreover, they facilitate consolidation of European Council", the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized. He is convinced that the values of the PACE activity must be increased. It helps Ukraine fell itself as a constituent part of European community.
In his turn, PACE President emphasized the fact that Ukraine is one of the biggest and most important countries-participants of Council of Europe and expressed hope that soon PACE would stop monitoring of our state. "Now, when the election period is completed we are able and we must, I suppose, adopt the decisions Ukraine is obliged to fulfill, as a EC member", - V. Lytvyn gave the answer. He stated that Ukraine is supposed to come to the presidency in Council of Europe in the course of the next year, having fulfilled all its obligations as a country-participant of Council of Europe. The Parties stressed that first of all Ukraine needs stability, without which the economic development is impossible, to conduct necessary reforms.
According to C. Lytvyn it is necessary to make everything possible in order "completion of the electoral process is not supposed to become the commencement of the political fighting, as one can make a conclusion basing on the last statements of the politicians." "It is extremely necessary to preserve parliamentarism in Ukraine as the Verkhovna Rada is to be altered into the institution that defines the way of the country development", - the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared. President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Mevlüt Cavusoglu assured V. Lytvyn that the Assembly and its Committees would make everything possible to assist Ukraine. "As a member of the Turkish delegation in PACE I have always possessed the tolerant position with Ukrainian delegation and I have no intentions to alter my position", - Mr. Mevlüt Cavusoglu announced.
