Mykola Tomenko: Party Initiatives of the Candidates for Presidency who failed to make it to the Second Round seem to be more Important that the Future of the Country
Giving comments in the course of the 5th Channel broadcasting concerning the behavior of the candidates failed to make it for the second round of election, Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that "unfortunately, the party initiatives of the Candidates for Presidency who failed to make it to the second round seem to be more important that the future of the country."
Mykola Tomenko explained that as far as Viktor Yushchenko and Arseniy Yatseniuk voters are ideologically close to the Yulia Tymoshenko program, their calls to vote against both candidates appeared to be the support of Viktor Yushchenko. He briefed that is such a way, A. Yatseniuk in particular acts as "vip-propagandist of Viktor Yanukovych as a candidate for the office of the President of Ukraine."
According to M. Tomenko situation with S. Tihipko is more complicated. "His voters are less ideological hence they would make the decisions according to their own points of views", - he stated. Giving comments concerning the proposition of Yulia Tymoshenko for S. Tihipko to head the government, The Deputy Chairman declared that "It is obvious matter." He explained that Yu. Tymoshenko has long ago invited S. Tihipko to the government, where he was the prime Minister Counsellor, headed the Entrepreneurs Council and later, only as a result of the tribune blocking by the Party of Regions, S. Tihipko failed to become the Deputy Prime Minister in accordance with the Yulia Tymoshenko presenting.
M. Tomenko emphasized that the Party of Regions offered S. Tihipko and A. Yatseniuk for their agitation against both candidates but actually against Y. Tymoshenko "with the provision o the pre-termed elections organization where they would be able to form their factions and new coalition with Party of Regions."
Still, M. Tomenko repeatedly made the point that any agreements between the candidates for the presidential office do not influence the decision of their admirers. "In the second round another principle of the election fighting acts, where people listen to the candidates and adopt final decision", - he proclaimed.
