Mykola Tomenko: Ukrainian Version of Awards: Vanity and Cynicism Fair
Giving comments concerning the last decision of the President on awarding of the state decorations, M. Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared: "Unfortunately, the President has chosen the worst way for the activity during the last days of his presidency."
"It is a well known fact now that everyday initiatives or orders are elements of inglorious conclusion of his president´s career", - M. Tomenko emphasized.
According to the words of the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, it was hardly expected that in the result of the emergency situation in Kyiv city during the winter period, the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv state Administration, responsible for the public utilities services would receive Order of Merit and the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine for inadequate fluctuations of exchange rates, and specific system of recapitalization in Bank, he should have been dismissed as the Parliament voted for, instead he received an order of Hero of Ukraine. "When we speak on the awarding of next "Heroes of Ukraine" I suppose it is the situation when one says "no comments."
"Besides, there is information, that it is not the first month that the state award are given in credit as all the funds in the President´s Secretariate for these purposes are already used", - the Deputy Chairman stated.
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that only one general decision should be made: "It is necessary to stop this vanity and cynicism fair."
