Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine directed the appeal to the General Prosecutor´s office and Ministry on Internal Affairs with the request to immediately investigate the arson of the personal car of Maksym Ostapenko, the Chairman of the National reserve-island ‘Khortytsia" and take all the necessary measures to grant the normal functioning of reserve personnel.
"Taking into the consideration the fact there are all the grounds to deem the arson connected with the professional activity of the reserve president and the fact the National reserve is one of the seven wonders of Ukraine and one of the most popular tourist objects of our state, the law enforcement agencies are obliged to investigate the situation as soon as possible", - he emphasized.
As it was announced by the mass media, on Wednesday evening in Zaporizhia city the car of M. Ostapenko, the General President of "Khortytsia" reserve was exploded and burned. The reserve president believes the incident is closely connected with his professional activity and regards it as a threat to his life.
