In the course of the sitting several
Bills were scrutinized.
The Bill (Reg. No5503) suggests the implementation of the fact that Election of Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, Local Councils, and Village, Settlement and City Mayors are conducted according to the majority system in single member constituency. At the same time, the Bill suggests the election of the Deputies of Kyiv City Council, Regional and Settlement councils according to majority system in multicandidate constituency.
The Bill (Reg. No2270-2) introduces majority electoral system of absolute majority for the election of mayors, which secures election of candidates supported by the absolute majority of electors to the said post. Pursuant to the Bill, a candidate to the post of a mayor who received more than a half of votes of electors who participated in the voting is considered an elected mayor.
In the result of the scrutiny, the Committee resolved to introduce the Bills for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine scrutiny.
The Committee members also recommend the rejection of the Bill Reg. No 5426.
