Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: The Politicians shall be prohibited to speak on Religion, International Relations and Language Issues

On Wednesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stayed with a working visit in Zhytomyr region. He stated that "religion, international relations and language issues are too sensitive topics for the politicians to understand". Thus, they shall be prohibited to comment upon these matters.

V.Lytvyn supposes that the church fulfills its duty, provided it educates and "restores the essence of human beings compassion, morality, conscientiousness, shame, charity, mutual support".

However, he believes that "the attempts of the politicians to create a State church result in the widening of the split". The Head of the Parliament supposes that "church hierarchs shall understand their responsibility for the moral purity of the people and inadmissibility of the conversion of the church into a business organization". "People shall attend the church to feel support. It is necessary to maintain the churches, but is shall not look like money extortion", - he stated.
