Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday met Leaders of "Aid for the Children with Oncological Illnesses" Charity Fund. he Honorary President of the Fund, Chairman of the Medical Institute of Sumy State University, professor Vitalii Markevych and the President of Fund, Candidate of Medical Science Valentyna Markey handed V. Lytvyn a honorary note "for the constant support and considerable contribution to the preserving of children lives in Ukraine."

 

In the end of last year, the Fund leaders addressed V. Lytvyn with the appeal to facilitate in increase of the financing of the program on medical care for the children with oncological illnesses abroad. Together with the leaders of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Protection Matters, V. Lytvyn initiated the elaboration and adoption of the Law on Amendments to the State Budget pursuant to which UAH 22 million were supposed to be allotted for the children in need for the immediate medical treatment abroad.

 

For the solution of the problems concerning these funds allotment, V. Lytvyn personally addressed the Prime Minister of Ukraine. In the result, according to V. Markevych words, first time for independence years, the operations for children that were registered in the Ministry on Health Protection program were done.

 

In the course of the meeting, V. Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with the leaders of the Charity Fund "Children with Oncological Illnesses" were discussed necessary issues on the necessity of the formation in Ukraine of the Center on cerebrum transplantation and modern donor bank for Ukraine possesses access to the European donors bank system. He promised to facilitate the introduction of the relevant document for the parliamentary scrutiny and personally supervise the funds in the State Budget granting for this project.
