At the annual educational conference “Serpneva” (August Conference), held this year under the slogan “Education is Everyone’s Business,” participants discussed key changes in the field of education and the state’s further steps in this direction.

First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko stressed the need for a consistent educational policy that will not depend on political cycles.

“This requires a professional dialogue, continuity of decisions, and clear rules. Such an approach is also essential for other reforms directly linked to education, particularly decentralization,” he noted.

Oleksandr Korniienko also highlighted the initial results of state support for engineering education. According to him, support for technical majors is already influencing applicants’ choices. The next step should be ensuring high-quality training for specialists who will be needed for Ukraine’s economy and reconstruction.

“Education funding must be one of the state's priorities. Amid war and future recovery, human capital potential, technological development, and the country's resilience will directly depend on the quality of education,” the First Deputy Speaker noted.

At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko stressed the importance of supporting teachers. After all, educators require decent pay, opportunities for professional development, and proper working conditions. Furthermore, the state must create conditions to attract young professionals to the teaching profession.
