Thanks to the Grant Agreement (Ukraine Facility II) between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic, ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ukraine will receive EUR 71 million in non-repayable assistance for the recovery of regions affected by the war. The funding will be directed towards key sectors that have suffered as a result of russia’s armed aggression.

This was stated by MP Mariia Mezentseva-Fedorenko, member of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, and Head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE.

“The ratified Agreement provides for EUR 71 million in non-repayable grant assistance, which will be directed straight to Ukrainian regions currently suffering from russian aggression. These territories will receive funding for projects related to healthcare, energy, infrastructure, water supply, humanitarian demining and other priority areas. The grant funds will be used for the procurement of French goods and services; however, up to 50% of the financing may also be allocated for the purchase of Ukrainian goods and services or products from third countries,” the MP explained.

She stressed that the grant assistance will begin to be distributed already this year.

“We are grateful to our French partners: during this difficult time for Ukraine, France and the French people stand shoulder to shoulder with our country. At the same time, we call on other partner states to support communities and regions affected by armed aggression, but which continue their European integration efforts, recovery, and progress towards greater energy efficiency and resilience,” Mariia Mezentseva-Fedorenko emphasised.
