Academic Board of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs awarded the Title of an Honorary Doctor to Volodymyr Lytvyn

On Monday, 21 December, Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine visited Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs where he greeted students and teaching personnel on the occasion of Police occupational holiday and awarded best teachers with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Diplomas.

 

As it was briefed in the course of the meeting by general-major Hanna Ponomarenko, the Head of the University, due to the academic board resolution, Volodymyr Lytvyn was awarded with the Title of an Honorary Doctor. The Head of the Parliament expressed sincere gratitude for the high respect and trust to his person and appealed to the University principals with the request to let him lecture before the students "in order to justify the honor and confirm the status."

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that "the whole Ukrainian dignitaries are supposed to be diverted into the legal field." "Institutes of the state authority are supposed to be totally depoliticized. First of all it concerns law-enforcing agencies", - V. Lytvyn stressed.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has pointed out the attention on the fact that the country needs an effective recruitment system in order to provide the state with the professional who would devote their lives to law proportion. "It is inadmissible that the average military wages comprise approximately UAH 1 500", - V. Lytvyn declared. At the same time, the Head of the Parliament proclaimed that there should be "an effective, demanding and encouraging system of public supervision for the law enforcing agencies of Ukraine work."
