The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, during his working visit to the Republic of Croatia to participate in the Three Seas Initiative Summit, discussed security cooperation, further support for Ukraine, European integration, and the reconstruction of the state.

During his address at the Parliamentary Summit, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that today Ukraine is a reliable shield for the European community.

“As Chair of Parliament during wartime, I can say without hesitation: Parliament is also the frontline. Security begins in parliamentary chambers. It is here that we cast our votes to strengthen defence. It is here that we adopt budgets that sustain resilience. Parliament is the crucible where the political will of nations and continents is forged — where every decision made today becomes a shield for millions of people tomorrow.

Today, Ukraine is not only a recipient, but also a contributor to international security. Yes, we still need your strong support. However, Ukraine today is a powerful hub where some of the world’s most advanced warfare experience is being developed."

In a joint statement the Summit participants strongly condemned russian aggression against Ukraine, reaffirmed unwavering solidarity with Ukrainians, support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as he emphasised the importance of achieving comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with UN Charter and International Law.

The document also highlights support of the Tree Seas Initiative in the reconstruction of Ukraine and the integration of its strategic sectors into European infrastructure networks. It also underlines the Initiative's potential for the EU enlargement policy, in particular, through practical cooperation between EU member-states and candidate countries.
