First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniienko paid a working visit to Kirovohrad oblast.
Upon arriving in Kropyvnytskyi, the First Deputy Speaker paid tribute to the Heavenly Hundred, who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and independence, emphasising the importance of preserving historical memory for future generations.
As part of a working visit, Oleksandr Korniienko held a meeting with representatives of local self-government bodies, including the Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration Andrii Raikovych and the Chair of the Regional Council Yurii Drozd.
The parties discussed the comprehensive development of local communities, taking into account that the region is currently actively hosting internally displaced persons, wounded servicemen, and is almost daily facing enemy attacks.
“Kropyvnytskyi is a major centre in Ukraine, with a well-developed agricultural sector, engineering industry and key infrastructure facilities. Today, the region is actively taking in displaced persons and wounded soldiers and faces enemy attacks almost daily. The example of Kropyvnytskyi shows just how important the comprehensive development of communities, support for our military and volunteer initiatives, and working together for victory are,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.
The First Deputy Speaker also visited the ‘Together We Are Strong’ (Razom Syla) volunteer centre — an organised volunteer initiative where more than 60 people are involved in, among other things, weaving camouflage nets for Ukrainian troops on the front line. According to him, this centre is an example of systematic volunteer work aimed at providing effective assistance to the army and supporting local communities.
In addition, the First Deputy Speaker familiarised himself with the operations of the company ‘Agro Car Ukraine’, which manufactures the Ukrainian Spike tractor. According to him, the company is carrying out important work by providing jobs, employing veterans and people with disabilities, and contributing to the development of the Ukrainian engineering industry.
“Parliament and the Government continue to prioritise support for Ukrainian manufacturers. It has been decided to promote the development of engineering and agricultural processing, as it is through business that new jobs are created and taxes are paid to support the army,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.
Among the key locations visited during the First Deputy Speaker’s working visit were the city emergency hospital and the regional clinical hospital for war veterans, where modern operating theatres and extensive facilities for the medical recovery and rehabilitation of patients have been established. He emphasised the importance of further developing healthcare provision for the population, ensuring high-quality services during the war, and the availability of state funding for these services under the medical guarantees programme.
“Healthcare services must be of high quality and accessible to all citizens who need them,” emphasised the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The First Deputy Speaker’s working visit to the Kirovohrad region confirmed the importance of gaining first-hand insight into regional activities, the effective work of local communities and the resilience of Ukrainian cities, which demonstrate that Ukraine remains a strong state despite all challenges.
This visit by Oleksandr Korniienko to the region took place with the participation of Vitalii Bezhin, Chair of the Subcommittee on Administrative-Territorial Structure and Local Self-Government of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organisation of State Power, local self-government, regional development and urban planning, and Oleksandr Danutsa, Chair of the Subcommittee on the Organisation of Public Safety and Order of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement.
