The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to Clause 14 of the Law "On Election of Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, Local Councils, and Village, Township and City Mayors" (re Simultaneous Election)

The Bill (Reg. No. 5448) introduces amendments to the effective Law concerning simultaneous holding of regular elections of the deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic with the elections of the deputies of local councils, and village, township and city mayors.

 

The Committee members stressed that pursuant to the Constitution of Ukraine, commission of the deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, as well as of the deputies of local councils, and village, township and city mayors, expired in 2010. In view of this fact, the People´s Deputies recommend that the elections be held simultaneously.   

 

The Committee members believe that adoption of the Bill will curtail the State Budget expenditures for the election campaign.
