Interparliamentary cooperation: a meeting between the Foreign Affairs Committees of Ukraine and Poland took place

17, Committee Chair on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko and Committee members held an online meeting with representatives of the Commission of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the European Union Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.  

The participants discussed current issues of world and European policies, security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, strengthening of  military-technical assistance, the issue of prisoners of war and illegally detained Ukrainian civilians. They also discussed situations at the Zaporizhia and Chornobyl NPPs, which were damaged as a result of russian attacks.

The Ukrainian party expressed its gratitude to the Republic of Poland for its support of Ukraine and, in particular, for providing medical assistance to those affected by the hostilities.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue, Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, as well as the prospects of our county's accession to the European Union. 

Participants agreed to intensify cooperation between the committees, in particular by holding regular meetings in various formats.

The meeting was attended by Ukrainian MPs, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Kopylenko, Secretary of the Committee Andrii Sharaskyn, Chairpersons of the Committee's subcommittees Mariana Bezuhla and Maria Ionova, and Committee member Iryna Herashchenko.
