In the course of the meeting with the hospital personnel, M. Tomenko declared: "Today it is necessary to stop the attempts to use the Afghan war veterans in the political interests of certain party, instead, the considerable medical treatment should be provided, their social rights and guarantees should be protected and all the necessary conditions for the normal existence should be made."

The Vice Chairman presented the hospital with the sport equipment and presents for people that are staying under the treatment at the present moment. M. Tomenko also discussed with Volodymyr Neroda, the Medical Director of the hospital the necessary modern medical equipment.

Speaking on the participation of the Soviet army in Afghanistan war, Mykola Tomenko emphasized:  "The War in Afghanistan is the Crime of the Communist Party and the Heroism of Young People who fulfilled their Soldier's Duty."

"We should remember all people passed away in Afghanistan and do not forget the veterans that came back as they became not only courageous but also injured physically spiritually. We should take care of their families. Still it is not less important to take a pattern by the successful Afghan veterans well-known businessmen, state officers and managers. They managed to use the experience they received in a foreign country and use it for the benefit of their own state", - M. Tomenko is convinced.
