Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, who is also a member of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council, took part in the work of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council in Brussels.

Even before the meeting began, the NATO PA Bureau appealed to all parliamentary delegations of the Alliance member states with a request and insistence to increase aid to Ukraine. This applies to both air defence systems and assistance with energy equipment in order to provide maximum support to Ukraine in connection with the inhumane shelling directed against the civilian population.

During the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council, issues of political support and a further shared vision of how Ukraine's partners can strengthen their commitments within the Coalition of the Willing for the Future were discussed. Specific parameters for urgent military support were also discussed, as well as recommendations for priority reforms in Ukraine, which in many ways echo the tasks of European integration.

«Our colleagues from NATO, in particular the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Marcos Perestrello, said that despite various other challenges, the issue of assistance to Ukraine is an absolute priority for the Alliance, including the NATO Parliamentary Assembly,» said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

According to her, the Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity to hear the speech and ask questions to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. «Obviously, the Ukrainian delegation insisted on the most necessary things that are critical for Ukraine today: air defence systems, artillery shells, investment in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, and assistance in restoring and strengthening Ukraine's energy system,» said the chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU. Separately, she said, they insisted that the issue of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance should remain on the agenda and cannot be decided by anyone outside Ukraine and NATO members.
