Volodymyr Lytvyn, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine objects the Statement on Decline of Science in Ukraine and emphasizes that the Main Problem in this Sphere is Lack of Demand for It on the Part of the State. "There is a great scientific capacity in Ukraine, that have been preserved since Soviet Union times and also great number of the unique inventions that appeared for the times of independence", - the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament declared in the course of he visiting of state scientific-production enterprise "Geosystem."
According to V. Lytvyn, the problem is that "Science in Ukraine is not of great demand due to the fact that the economics is more or less monopolized by finance- oligarch groups that have done everything possible to render them lifeless through unsparing exploitation. Under such a conditions they are not interested it the modernization and implementation of modern technologies."
According to V. Lytvyn "Geosystem" is an example of such an enterprise "that proves the fact that if one possess responsibility, cares about the personnel and think for the perspective even under the complicated conditions it is possible to organize high-technological production."
He reminded that the executive power commenced the campaign on allotment of the free-of-charge assets on land property right. At the same time, according to V. Lytvyn it would have been more effective to invest funds into such enterprises as "Geosystem" for example in order to conduct land inventory.
