M. Prysiazhniuk, the Chairman of the Committee opening the hearings declared that In Ukraine, during the years 2006-2008 the sugar domestic market was the only within which the prices had not increased. According to his words "due to its supersaturation and borders closure, the sugar was sold by prices lower then prime cost."
M. Prysiazhniuk deems such situation lead to negative consequences - sugar beet and sugar production became unprofitable.
The Hearings participants pointed the attention on the fact that the issues on governmental grants payment for the agricultural enterprises are not solved yet.
Moreover, the speakers are convinced that the funds are supposed to be allotted for sugar purchase by the Agrarian Fund to the State Intervention Fund at the rates, envisaged by the Law "On State Aid for the Agricultural Sphere of Ukraine."
According to the producers´ words, it is necessary to continue allocation for the sugar plants of the funds for partial compensation due to the involved credits for the enterprises preparation to the producing season, purchase of the sugar beets and gas price reduction.
Moreover, the parliamentarians recommend that the Government introduces the sugar storage register within the domestic market, starting from the producer to the final consumer and envisage in the year 2010 funds for the elaboration of the normative legal technical documentation adjusted to European demands for the sugar industry.
