On 11 December 2025, the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, met with a delegation of Directors of Eastern Europe Departments of the foreign ministries of the Nordic-Baltic Eight.
During the meeting, interlocutors discussed the current security situation in Ukraine, the prospects of a ceasefire and peace process, in particular possible effective security guarantees for Ukraine, sanctions policy toward the aggressor state, and the use of frozen russian assets for reconstruction of the economy and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to discussing support for transatlantic unity, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, in particular the prospects of opening the first cluster in negotiations with the European Union, and the fight against corruption in our country.
Committee Chairman Oleksandr Merezhko emphasised the importance of high-level political dialogue with the Nordic-Baltic Eight countries and expressed his gratitude for their comprehensive assistance and support.
