The legislative act enhances the requirements to the producers (sellers) as to the provision of reliable information about the goods containing genetically modified components.
Clause 15 of the Law "On Protection of Customer´s Rights" (re Customer´s Right for the Information about the Goods) states that the goods shall include a notification about the presence or absence of genetically modified components in the foodstuffs.
The Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements establishes administrative responsibility (a fine) for unreliable information about the goods.
A relevant Bill was registered under Reg. No. 3230.
