Despite the state of war, Ukraine continues to act as a guarantor of food security in the world, according to the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
According to data from the State Customs Service of Ukraine, as of mid-November 2025, Ukraine had exported 10.429 million tonnes of cereals and legumes since the beginning of the 2025-2026 marketing year (MY), of which 1.049 million tonnes were shipped this month.
Since the beginning of the 2025/2026 marketing year, Ukraine has exported 6.573 million tonnes of wheat (340,000 tonnes in November), 1.134 million tonnes of barley (45,000 tonnes), corn – 2.523 million tonnes (664 thousand tonnes) and 0.2 thousand tonnes of rye.
Total exports of Ukrainian flour since the beginning of the season as of 12 November are estimated at 23 thousand tonnes (in November – 1.6 thousand tonnes), including wheat flour – 22.3 thousand tonnes (1.6 thousand tonnes).
Key points of the export situation:
- The main buyers of Ukrainian grain are countries in the European Union, Asia, and North Africa.
- Exports are significantly influenced by the smooth operation of the Ukrainian maritime corridor and ship insurance mechanisms, which help to reduce logistics costs.
- The situation remains difficult due to the war, but export routes are functioning, and Ukraine continues to ship significant volumes of food to world markets.
