Mykola Tomenko, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that he had received the answers on his appeal regarding the fact whether it is expedient for the Ukrainian peace-makers to stay in Liberia.

In November, Mykola Tomenko has directed the appeal to the National Council of Security and Defense regarding the fact of expediency of Ukrainian peace-makers in stay in Liberia.

M. Tomenko also reminded that as it is known from mass media, military officers that are directed to Liberia sometimes do not have necessary preparation for their mission as for the present day quantity of the training flights are extremely low and training is being held on flight simulators. "Probably it was the cause of the helicopter crash in year 2008 with Ukrainian peacemakers in Liberia", - he informed.

M. Tomenko also emphasized that 6 years ago, a lot of People´s Deputies were firmly against the decision to direct Ukrainian peacemakers to Liberia as they deemed the decision adopted by that time country leaders (L. Kuchma, the President of Ukraine and V. Yanukovych, the Prime-Minister of Ukraine) fine gesture regarding the international organizations, possessed critical attitude towards the Ukrainian high-ranking authorities.

In the response it was declared that according to R. Bohatyriova, the Chairperson of the National Council of Security and Defense order, the appeals were directed to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Security and Defense. After the responses of the Ministries the corresponding resolution would be adopted regarding the expediency of Ukrainian peace-makers in stay in Liberia.
