The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that The Verkhovna Rada listens to the Report of O.I.Medvedko, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, regarding Law Order in the Country and Measures to be taken to prevent Corruption among the Leaders of the Prosecution General of Ukraine

V. Shvets, the Chairman of the Committee, informed that numerous citizens complains were directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding "the illegal actions of separate prosecution officers work neglecting norms of law and ethics and moreover, taking active part in the unlawful activity. Among such complaints there are several regarding the general Prosecution of Ukraine officers and certain regional prosecution officers."

 

According to the effective legislation, the Committee directs relevant appeals to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine for their detailed scrutiny. Still, as it is seen from the responses, such signal were nor being deliberately analyzed.

 

According to the Committee members, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is supposed to receive the detailed information from the Prosecutor General regarding these issues.

 

A relevant Bill is registered under Reg. No. 5432 in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
