Over three days in Brussels, during the screening meetings between Ukraine and the European Commission under negotiating Title 11 "Agriculture and Rural Development", which belongs to Cluster 5 "Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion Policy", the Ukrainian delegation, with the participation of representatives of the Government of Ukraine and members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, presented 28 presentations on the state of implementation of commitments in the Ukrainian agrarian sector.

The Committee's Chairman, Alexander Haidu, noted that the screening procedure is a basic component of the EU accession negotiations, during which key issues of agricultural and rural development were discussed, and a constructive dialogue and positive assessment of Ukraine's preparations were received.

Mr Haidu also stressed that the European partners clearly saw the state and potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, as Cluster 5 on Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion Policy covers the most sensitive topics of negotiations with the European Union.

At the same time, the vulnerability of Ukrainian and European farmers makes agricultural issues the most politically sensitive, which lies behind the technical issues of screening. Therefore, it is important to have an ongoing dialogue and mutual understanding between Ukraine and its European partners.

The Chairman of the Committee stated that this stage has been successfully completed, but there are new challenges ahead and the next sections of the screening for the European integration of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
