Mykola Tomenko: During the Civilized Presidential Election Campaign, the First Round shall be held under the Slogan "For Us", and the Second One under the Motto "For Ukraine"
"Unfortunately, the present-day election discussion is a competition in intimidating the voters by a particular candidate for presidency or by all the candidates. It is necessary to cease intimidation and launch an efficient positive discussion", - Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated in the political talk-show "Maidan. Lider Natsiyi" at Channel 5.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the present-day election discussion evaded a crucial issue: the prospects of Ukraine after the presidential elections. "It is important to set the priorities and implement reforms", - he stated.
The Vice-Chairman believes that our country shall be identified as a European State. However, it is necessary to take into account the Ukrainian traditions and European experience. "The past can not serve as a consolidating idea, as the history of Ukraine shows what actions would better not be taken. Thus, we shall not struggle with the past, but learn from it, changing the present for the sake of future. It is a common understanding of problems, strategy and future prospects that shall unite the Ukrainian society", - M.Tomenko stated.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expects that such an approach will be adopted and the course of the presidential discussion will be altered. Otherwise, the first round of the presidential election campaign will be held under the slogan "against everyone", and the second one under the motto "against Ukraine".
