Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, predicts that Personnel Issues will not be scrutinized at the Parliament until the End of the Presidential Elections
While answering the journalists´ questions whether the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received the letter of the President of Ukraine with the request to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to support the President concerning the issue on dismissal of Yuriy Lutsenko, the Minister on Internal Affairs of Ukraine, V. Lytvyn declared: "When the document is directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, then we will scrutinize it." The Head of the Parliament expressed the thought that until the Presidential election is passed, the Verkhovna Rada would not scrutinize any personnel issues. "There are a great number of the trends and tendencies. You are perfectly aware of the fact that no one of the candidates for the Presidential office will work for the opponents", - he explained.
V. Lytvyn also stated: "The President and the Prime Minister have formed this Government together. To whom to appeal now? Probably it is reasonable to sincerely confess to the people?"
