Today, MPs together with representatives of associations of local governments of Ukraine met with representatives of the Association of Local Authorities and the political party LOC of the Republic of Moldova - Bujorean Alexandru and Marinuta Vitalie

"Understanding the importance of Moldova for the future of Ukraine and our common European path, I am always open to dialogue with politicians from different political forces in this country. After all, the only goal is to preserve and strengthen our European vector of development," said Vadym Halaychuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Ukraine's Integration into the EU.
Today, the risks of its change are high, and that is why we, Ukrainian parliamentarians, are working on various international platforms to ensure that Moldova's pro-European forces receive proper support. Vadym Halaychuk emphasised that together with our partners in the EU, we constantly emphasise that we have a common destiny, a common direction of development, and it must be protected.
It is worth noting the position of the LOC party representatives on the inadmissibility of "separation" of Moldova and Ukraine in the issue of negotiations with the EU - such a step could have serious negative consequences for both Ukraine and Moldova.
We also have specific examples of successful cooperation. A few days ago, a direct railway connection from Ukraine through Moldova to Bucharest was launched in a test mode. This is a symbolic but also practical project that confirms that we cannot implement important economic and infrastructure tasks without each other.
Parliamentarians from the Committees on State Building, Local Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, and National Security, Defence and Intelligence stressed the need to build close contacts both at the intergovernmental level and at the community level. Such ties will serve as a guarantee of our common security.
There are a million reasons for Ukraine and Moldova to cooperate. These are not only the interests of our countries, but also the stability and future of the European Union.
