Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: The Resolution Draft on the Allotment of the Political-Legal Status to Budapest Memorandum is being registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
It was declared by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine giving the answers to the journalists´ questions on Saturday during the celebration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Professional Day concerning the rightness of the rejection from the nuclear status of Ukraine.
He proclaimed that the draft resolution was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by S. Hrynevetsky, Lytvyn Bloc deputy that suggested appealing to UNO with the request to allot the political-legal status to the Budapest memorandum and its implementation control provision.
V. Lytvyn deems "it is the correct issue solving due to the fact that Ukraine rejected from 176 missiles with nuclear warhead instead Ukraine actually received non-effective declaration." "Not all the countries-guarantors remembers this document existence, - the Leader of the Parliament announced. I am convinced that it is supposed to gain the political-legal status, status that will be the real one."
Guarantees and obligations of countries that signed the treaty, according to V. Lytvyn must be implemented, first of all it concerns the United States of America. He reminded that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the address to the USA Congress regarding this matter, but has not received the response yet.
