The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Protection of Plants"

The Bill (Reg. No. 4593) envisages the amendments to the effective Law regarding broadening of the principal tasks of the state supervision and authority of the specialized executive power bodies in the sphere of plants protection, strengthening of violation for this sphere legislation infringements etc.

 

S. Ryzhuk, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, one of the bill authors, emphasized that the "State Inspectorate on Plants Protection is the single inspectorate in the state that observe and control phytosanitary state of biocoenosis on the places, elaborate and coordinates measure on fighting pests, supervises import of the chemical plants protection means to the state etc."

 

The Members of the Committee deem the state inspectors on plants protection are obliged to conduct state control without any notification.

 

The members of the Committee emphasized that the Bill adoption would facilitate the increase of the social protection of the specialists in the sphere of plants protection and also assist consumers in purchasing ecologically safe agricultural production.
