At the meeting, Ukraine was represented by Taras Chornovil, First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Yevhen Dobriak, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Global Security and International Cooperation; the Republic of Korea was represented by Pak Ro Byok, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine.
The Parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation aimed at the support and enhancement of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea.
Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, dwelled upon the prospects of cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the economic, financial and political aspects. He stressed the necessity of extending economic connections and establishing relations between the Committees.
O.Bilorus called for further development of inter-parliamentary relations between the countries. He also responded to the inquiries concerning prospective work of the Committee and political situation in Ukraine.
T.Chornovil greeted the members of the National Assembly and the diplomats of the Republic of Korea. He stated that the relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea had been traditionally well-developed. The People´s Deputy of Ukraine stated that "the relations have most efficiently developed between the Parliaments and the inter-parliamentary groups of friendship". He also expects that economic contacts between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea will be enhanced.
The Parties also dwelled upon the development of cultural contacts between the countries.
Suh Byung Soo, member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, underscored the importance of the delegation´s visit to Ukraine. He expects that the visit will boost bilateral cooperation at all the levels.
