Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chairperson of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, took part in the Baltic Business Forum ‘Poland - Europe - European Union’. In a discussion on Ukraine's negotiations for accession and membership in the European Union, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze noted that Ukrainian society is paying an extremely high price for its European choice and has shown that it is ready to fight for what many in the EU take for granted.

At the same time, according to the Committee's chairman, in order for Ukraine to successfully complete its European integration path, the government's slogans and plans must be matched by concrete actions.

Regarding external obstacles, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze noted that this is the position of Hungary, which artificially uses its veto and is not ready for a constructive dialogue: «Therefore, I believe that there is a need for a serious and honest conversation within the European Union itself, and not only regarding the enlargement process.» The chairman of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU believes that Ukraine's low institutional capacity is another difficulty in the accession process.

In her opinion, it is now crucial to maintain the dynamics of the process, both on the part of Ukraine and the European Union itself, because not only the future of Ukraine depends on it, but also the trust in the European Union of all candidate countries, as well as those who wish to join the European community in the future.

At the same time, she warned that russia will continue to resist this at every step, including by amplifying the voices of those who are currently concerned about the objective or manipulative future of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. «And here, together, we need to put an end to these manipulations and really engage in such a meaningful, informative dialogue so that we can see how we can only win together on all sides. I am convinced that we will succeed if we are honest in this process and treat it responsibly,» Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze concluded.
