Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasizes that the Foreign Policy of the State is supposed to be Identical with the Moods and Intentions of the Citizens.

 

Giving the answers to the journalists´ questions concerning the discussion on Ukraine accessing NATO, V. Lytvyn mentioned: "The most effective way of this problem solution do not talk a lot on this topic."

 

According to the Leader of the Parliament, Ukraine as an independent state must make its choice and develop by itself. "Strong desire of Ukrainian politicians to adjust Ukraine to some another countries proves that they do not believe in themselves and in our Ukraine", - V. Lytvyn announced.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized the importance of taking into the consideration moods and intentions of the citizens and according to his words, the majority of them are firmly against adjusting Alliance.

 

V. Lytvyn also pointed out the attention on the fact that the military blocs din the time of their formation "were made for the cold war." "Today, when the cold war is over, the necessity to choice this or that side is useless", - the Head of the Parliament declared.

 

V. Lytvyn also informed that the First Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defence, Serhiy Htynevetsky (Lytvyn Bloc faction) elaborated and directed for the Parliamentary scrutiny the Bill that envisages exclusion from all the foreign economic documents and doctrines clauses on course of Ukraine on the European-Atlantic integration and fixation of nonaligned status of Ukraine.

 

The Bill according to V. Lytvyn is scrutinized by the Committee and is prepared for the scrutiny in the session hall. "According to the People´s Deputies moods it is possible that the Bill receives 350 votes approximately", - he informed adding that it would be better to scrutinize it after the elections.
