Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in a scientific and practical roundtable discussion «Lawmaking and Ensuring the Consistency of Ukrainian Legislation in the Context of European Integration» organised by the Institute of Lawmaking and Scientific and Legal Expertise of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
«The regulatory framework should be logical, understandable and accessible. This is a matter of orderliness that needs to be addressed immediately,» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed.
Ruslan Stefanchuk paid special attention to the issue of harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with the European Union law, calling this process a key step towards full EU membership. He also noted that in the context of war and large-scale changes, Ukraine has no right to delay reforms.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed his sincere gratitude to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for its thorough analytical work and initiative to form a unified scientific concept of legislative development. In his opinion, effective lawmaking is possible only if the parliament, the scientific community and the government work together.
