The State Military Department can not function without the Supreme Command - V.Lytvyn
V. Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stressed that the state military department can not function without the supreme command. It was declared during the working visit to Cherkasy region.
"It is obvious that before implementing the resolutions on the funding of the armed forces, the Minister of Defence and General Staff Commander shall be appointed", - V. Lytvyn announced.
He also emphasized that to solve problems in the armed forces, "the elementary order shall be kept, plundering shall be ceased, and the inventory of all the armed forces property shall be made."
"It is necessary to adopt a balanced decision, as the sum of money, approximately UAH 60 billion determined by the Council on National Security and Defence shall be distributed among all the law-enforcement agencies; hence to support the army, attention shall be paid to other inner state reserves", - V. Lytvyn proclaimed. He reminded that last year, more then USD 22 billion "flew" out of Ukraine. According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, these funds could have been used for inner investments. According to V. Lytvyn, such events in Ukraine are caused by the obscurity of laws and the lack of stability in the political situation.
