Education and Medicine shall be of Priority in the Budget - V.Lytvyn

Science, education, medicine and agricultural complex are supposed to be the spheres of prior importance while forming the budget. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement during the meeting with educational and medical sphere workers in Kyiv on Monday.

 

According to the leader of the Parliament, to make the work of the spheres stable, it is necessary to refuse from "insufficiently considered innovations and reforms with the help of which officials try to hide their lack of responsibility and professional qualities." V. Lytvyn emphasized the necessity of conferring the status of public officials to the workers of medical and educational fields.

 

During the conversation with the educational sphere workers, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that "reforms given from the top are supposed to be implemented owing to the enthusiasm and responsibility of the teachers".

 

The Head of the Parliament is convinced that all the innovations shall be tested within the educational environment, receiving expert evaluation. "Imitation of the Western standards usually brings the negative consequences", - he added.

 

V. Lytvyn reminded that education in the USSR had been fundamental. At present, however, we lose our basis and traditions in the search of innovations.

 

Speaking about the necessary changes, V. Lytvyn stressed that quality education and students´ selection were of great demand for the schools and universities.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that future of the country belonged to education and science. At the same time, the young people shall be provided with working places and housing.
