The Bill (Reg. No. 4728) improves normative and legal base in the field of fighting organized crime, enhancing efficient activity of the special departments in charge of fighting organized crime.

The Committee members expressed a number of remarks concerning the Bill. Thus, the State Customs Service of Ukraine believes that supplementing of the Code with Clause 261 not only duplicates the order of mutual relations fixed by Clause 26, but also restricts the scope of such relations for the special departments in charge of fighting organized crime.

The Committee Chairman also stressed that Clause 11 of the Customs Code did not envisage participation of the customs agencies in the fighting organized crime. Thus, the said supplements will require amendments to Clause 11 of the Customs Code concerning expansion of duties of the customs agencies.
