Ukraine and Brazil shall avail of any Opportunity to boost and extend Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in all Fields
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Antonio Fernando Cruz de Mello, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Brazil, made the above-mentioned statement at the Wednesday´s meeting.
"We have plenty common matters of concern. I am convinced that Brazil can be represented in Europe through Ukraine, and Ukraine, respectively, in South America", - stated V.Lytvyn.
He believes that the scope of bilateral cooperation is wide "from a political to a humanitarian sphere". V.Lytvyn deems necessary to focus attention on the parliamentary constituent of the relations between Ukraine and Brazil. The Parties called for facilitating exchange visits of parliamentary delegations.
The Parties also dwelled upon the enhancement of trade and economic relations. V.Lytvyn supposes that the rate of bilateral trade fails to meet the potential of both countries.
The Ambassador stated that Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of the Federal Republic of Brazil, would make an official visit to Ukraine on 1-2 December to sign a number of important bilateral agreements. Antonio Fernando Cruz de Mello also informed about a prospected large-scale forum of entrepreneurs organized to establish common enterprises and increase the amount of mutual investments.
V.Lytvyn and A.F. Cruz de Mello deem necessary to extend cooperation in the space sector and neighboring fields, as well as in a humanitarian field.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that 450 thousand descendants of Ukrainian emigrants reside in Brazil. The Ambassador highly appreciated contribution of Ukrainian diaspora into the development of Brazil, stressing that ethnic Ukrainians take active part in all the aspects of country´s life.
