Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for enhancing the Role of Regions in the State Administration System
Visiting Luhansk Electrical Engineering Plant, V.Lytvyn commented upon the role of Luhansk region in the country´s life. He regretted that Luhansk region that "has preserved the remains of enormous human, education, scientific, engineering and industrial potential since the times of the USSR is exhausted, draws aside and turns into a subsidiary of other regions". According to the Head of the Parliament, regional human resources are mostly used "as auxiliaries", being not represented in the central authority bodies.
"The country needs a balanced administration system to consider a regional dimension as well", - stated V.Lytvyn, adding: "Not only Luhansk region, but also other regions have enormous potential". "The present administration system with the domination of several regions is deleterious to Ukraine", - he stated.
On Wednesday, V.Lytvyn stayed with a working visit in Luhansk region.
