The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine in front of the Parliament

On the occasion of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko, Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, MPs of Ukraine and employees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine on Constitution Square in front of the Ukrainian Parliament.

The National Flag of Ukraine is the embodiment of the aspirations of the Ukrainian people for freedom and independence, a symbol of unity, indomitability and dignity of our nation.

“Our flag is the symbol, the marker, the pattern that is associated with Ukraine, its freedom and the courage of the Ukrainian people all over the world. The Ukrainian Flag flies over our cities and villages, it is raised on flagpoles near private homes, and is hung in the windows of Ukrainians,’ said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Blue and Yellow Flag is the first to appear on the liberated Ukrainian territories, is on the armour of the Defenders of Ukraine, and is given only to the closest ones.

“I am convinced that in the near future the Flag of Ukraine will stand in the same row as all flags of the European Union and all flags of NATO member states,”  the Chairman of the Parliament stressed.
