“One of the main tasks of the government today is to preserve the memory of our fallen heroes, and to provide veterans with the necessary conditions for a decent life,’ said Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk at the VII International Veterans Forum, addressing the veterans to whom Ukraine owes its freedom and peaceful sky.
At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised the decisions of the Ukrainian Parliament that had been approved. In particular, the right of servicemen to biological paternity (maternity) was ensured, the right to draw up a personal order in case of death was established, and the procedure for granting the status of combatant and person with a disability as a result of war was simplified.
“Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has a number of important veterans’ draft laws aimed at supporting veterans’ entrepreneurship, addressing the problems of reintegrating war veterans into civilian life, defining the principles of domestic policy in the veterans’ sphere, improving labour legislation in terms of creating conditions for retaining jobs for military personnel and honouring the memory of war veterans, defenders of Ukraine,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
He noted that most of these acts are ready for consideration in the first reading: “And we will plan a separate day in the Parliament to consider veterans’ draft laws.”
“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is ready for systematic and effective cooperation for the sake of our veterans,” the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasised.
