The state, together with international partners, is taking all measures to carry out humanitarian demining of agricultural land, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy informs.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, since the beginning of the year, sappers have inspected more than 171.7 thousand hectares of agricultural land scheduled for priority inspection and demining. More than 156.6 thousand hectares have already been returned to farmers for economic use.

It is noted that in the Kherson region, almost 60% of the farmland planned for inspection this year has already been inspected and returned to farmers. In general, since the beginning of the year, more than 156.6 thousand hectares of land have been returned to economic use in Ukraine. As a result, farmers can once again go out into the fields, sow their crops and harvest.

According to the regional military administrations, scheduled inspections of agricultural land took place in eight regions of the country. Since the beginning of the year, most agricultural land has been inspected in:

Kherson region - 146.3 thousand hectares (in June - 17.76 thousand hectares);

Kharkiv region - 11.3 thousand hectares (in June - 4.55 thousand hectares);

Mykolaiv region - 8.3 thou hectares (in June - 1.67 thou hectares).

The Ministry notes that during the first half of the year, Ukraine strengthened its humanitarian demining capabilities. At the beginning of 2024, 30 vehicles were already in use. In June, 82 demining vehicles were already in use. The increase in the number of demining vehicles is due, in part, to the localisation of foreign models, and to the use of domestic developments that will be put into mass production after certification. As for other demining machinery and equipment, operators are already purchasing Ukrainian-made equipment.

Since the beginning of the year, the number of certified mine action operators has more than doubled: 43 operators have been certified to date. Another 52 are in the process of being certified.
