Mykola Tomenko: Sports Association should be of Greater Importance in Physical Training and Development of Sports
Today, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the representatives of the International Coordinating Committee of Dynamo Organizations of Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kirgizia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Romania, Germany, Italy and Mongolia.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine congratulated the attendants on the 85th anniversary of foundation of "Dynamo" physical culture and sports association of Ukraine. He briefed on the great achievements of the association that has trained a firmament of prominent sportsmen and trainers.
M.Tomenko informed the guests about the legislative support of physical culture and sports. Thus, a Bill "On Physical Culture and Sports" that enhances social status of sports veterans, trainers and instructors of children sports schools was drafted for the Second Reading. However, final adoption of this important Law is postponed due to the global crisis and financial problems in the country.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to boost the activity of sports associations in Ukraine and increase the number of People´s Deputies from the sports branch.
He deems necessary to continue reorganization of the physical training system at the higher education establishments, re-equipping available sports basis. The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to alter the system of physical training lessons at school.
The participants of the meeting discussed prospects of further realization of priority matters in the field of physical culture and sports, and development of "Dynamo" physical culture and sports association.
"Education, public health, development of physical culture and sports are the main priorities of social development", - he stated.
