The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the National Prayer Breakfast under the patronage of the President of Ukraine

"Prayer unites our society today, unites Ukraine, unites people of goodwill around the world. Today is a day of great joy of our unity and a day of care for our soldiers and citizens who suffer from enemy rage and cruelty, a day of remembrance of our irreparable sacrifice for the sake of Ukraine, for the sake of future generations," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.
He noted that Ukrainians have learnt to live in a strange combination of two extremely strong emotions and feelings: love for their close people and hatred for the enemy who came to our land.
"I believe that in today's struggle for its freedom and independence, the stronger ones are the unbreakable Ukraine and the unconquerable heroic Ukrainian people, who are writing their bloody but true history today," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasised.
In his speech, he expressed a wish that today's prayer be addressed to the Ukrainians who have been keeping the sky over Ukraine for ten years, to our heroic Armed Forces of Ukraine, all security and defence forces, to those who daily hold back the insane enemy, to every Ukrainian prisoner of war who lives in hope of returning to Ukraine, who does everything to keep Ukraine in his heart, to Ukrainian children, whom Ukraine will surely free from the evil captivity.
"We pray for those who rescue. Those who save every day. Who save human lives under mortal threat. We pray for our rescuers, who yesterday pulled people out of the rubble in Dnipro, who tamed the fire in Kharkiv, who penetrated the rubble in Odesa," said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that during today's prayer breakfast all those present would also pray for doctors who are faithful to their vocation, for teachers who pass on their life wisdom to children, and for farmers in the midst of this summer harvest.
"I want this prayer to be heard by Ukrainian diplomats and our international partners, because they are the ones who do everything to ensure that Ukraine has something to defend itself with. They are the ones who understand well that Ukraine has no choice but to be equal among equals, strong among the strong and responsible among the responsible in the European Union and NATO," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.
"Today we are here to ask the Lord for wisdom and unity to go through this difficult path together, which will definitely lead us to the age-old dream of Ukrainians to live on their land, raise children, and glorify their country in the world," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said, expressing his belief that today's National Prayer Breakfast, which is held under the patronage of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, will become an important symbol of our unity and mutual invincibility.
