The Thirteenth Sitting of the Committee on Parliamentary Co-operation between Ukraine and European Union came to an End

The
sitting was held under common chairmanship of Borys Tarasiuk, the Chairman of
Ukrainian part of the Committee on European Cooperation between Ukraine and
European Union and Pavlo Koval, Chairman of the European Parliament delegation
on relations with Ukraine.
During the second working session of the 13th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee the issues on cooperation in the spheres of justice, internal relations, visa-free regime, economic and sector cooperation between Ukraine and EU were discussed.
In particular according to the recommendations, the issues regarding the relations Ukraine-EU, participants of the sitting stressed great necessity of uninterrupted and oriented on the perspective treaties regarding the Treaty on Association between Ukraine and EU. The participants of the sitting expect the concluding of the Agreement would considerably liven up the relations between two Parties. It is also supposed that the Treaty on Association that would be based on the principles of the political association and economic integration to European aims of Ukraine.
Concerning the internal development of Ukraine and EU, participants of the sitting stressed that coming of a Lisbon Agreement into force would strengthen the EU institutions hence would strengthen the possibility of Union to increase. The necessity of solving of the essential problems in Ukraine was also emphasized.
According to the recommendations, in the spheres of economic and sector cooperation, the participants expressed for the facilitation of the business and investment climate in Ukraine, through the progress of Law dominion, juridical power reformation and fighting against corruption.
Regarding the issues of cooperation in the sphere of justice and internal relations, the participants of the meeting noticed implementation of the agreements on readmission and simplification of the visa registration. Also the necessity of the further dialogue regarding the amendments introduction to the Agreement on simplified visa registration aiming at the implementation of supplementary mechanisms of simplification.
B. Tarasiuk informed that next, 14th Meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and EU would be held in Brussels, in the year 2010.
