The Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Citizenship of Ukraine"

The Bill (Reg.№4818) envisages the supplements to the article 25 of the effective law by new part according to which "diplomatic representatives and consul institutions of Ukraine protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens abroad and allot help during the representation of their interests in juridical bodies, in courts in particular during the scrutiny y of criminal and civil cases."

 

During the discussion, the members of the committee expressed number of remarks regarding the bill. In particular, the Members of the Committee that the touched upon issue in the Bill is regulated by the article 6 of the Law "On Diplomatic Service."
