The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Ratification of the Amendment to Supplement B to the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change"

The Law  envisages ratification of the Amendment to the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change that envisages accession of the Republic of Belarus to the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol, and sets the quantitative obligations concerning reduction of man-made emissions of greenhouse gases by 92% of 1990 rate during 2008-2012.

 

 Ukraine had ratified the Kyoto Protocol on 4 February 2004, making a commitment to take necessary measures to bring its total man-made emissions of greenhouse gases in accordance

with the obligations fixed in the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol.
